What is The Sand Place?
The Sand Place: Where kids dive into a 40-ton sandbox adventure! We’ve got tonka trucks, shovels, pails, and even kid-sized excavators.
What type of sand do the kids play in?
Central to The Sand Place’s mission is its partnership with Calcean Minerals & Materials LLC, which supplies the facility with a truly unique material: oolitic aragonite sand, sustainably harvested from The Bahamas. Unlike ordinary sand, Calcean’s oolitic aragonite is silica-free, eliminating the health risks often associated with traditional play sand. It is also non-toxic, allergen-free, and safe for even the most sensitive individuals, making it an ideal choice for children, including those with special needs or sensory sensitivities.
How does the sand stay clean?
We start by placing all the toys aside for a good night sleep. Then we gently rake the sand to clear all debris. After we mist the sand with a disinfectant mixture of water and vinegar.
Can we drop off our kids to play?
No. The Sand Place requires adult-supervision at all times! Keep an eye on those little sand architects.
Are waivers required; and who must fill them out?
Signed waivers are required! Every adult must sign a waiver and include all children as a minor participants.
Can a Parent/Guardian play in the sandbox with their kid(s)?
Yes!
Can we bring our own toys?
Sorry but no outside toys are allowed. We maintain strict cleanliness standards for our in-store toys.
Is the sandbox handicap accessible?
Our store is ADA compliant, however wheelchairs must remain outside of the sandbox.
Is there a sand-free area for my baby/infant to play in?
Yes. There is a separate sand-free Play Area for them to enjoy. Sand Play kids are not allowed in this area.
What is the sick policy at The Sand Place?
For the protection of everyone, The Sand Place urges sick kids or other family members/guests that are experiencing any of the following symptoms (i.e., diarrhea, fever of 100 degrees or higher, heavy cough/croup, sore throat/swollen glands, vomiting or nausea, pink-eye, unknown rash, sneezing, runny nose that is green or yellow in color); or, any other known contagious sickness, not to come to The Sand Place until you’re feeling better and are not contagious to others. In addition, the required The Sand Place “Waiver” prohibits any Parent/Guardian and their kid from utilizing the The Sand Place facility if any known contagious sickness exists.
Does The Sand Place allow use of its facilities by Daycare and School Groups?
Yes. The Sand Place can host your group event. Please call us to discuss how we can collaborate and create a great experience for your group.
